Plant & Human Diversity: A Partnership
We believe that everyday people are capable of being effective stewards of our plant resources. This symbiotic relationship is necessary – decentralized community based approaches are essential to sustaining plants and people.
Kaua`i Community Seed Bank
Kauai Community Seed Bank and Library collects, cleans, dries, accessions, stores and distributes seeds and plant materials. We choose seeds that are native, rare, threatened, nutrient-dense, high-yielding, beautiful, medicinal and otherwise important to us, our island, and the planet.
Kaua`i Food Forest
The food forest is an expansion in our development of local permaculture. The project originated in a collaboration between Malama Kauai, Regenerations Botanical Garden, Sanctuary of LUBOF and community individuals.
Regenerations Seed Garden
Regenerations seed garden is a living seed bank devoted to growing and locally adapting seeds of multiple interests and inspiration.
Regenerations Seed & Soil Center
We are actively developing a three acre field at Wai Koa into the permanent home for our seed growing and educational activities.
Community Seed Exchanges
The Kauai Biannual Community Seed and Plant Exchange is a well attended and much loved event, offered in Kauai since March 2008. It is a venue for growers and planters to gather and exchange non-invasive, non-GMO, plant materials, knowledge, as well as to build community.
Weekly opportunities are available at the Regenerations Seed Bank, Seed Garden and Community Food Forest to deepen our personal relationship with the earth and with each other.
